This time of the year is called Easter, and as you know it is not a concrete day of the year, but a period of time which is in March and April. But What do you know about Easter in English speaking countries?

Here you have an interesting text about a British boy and how he celebrates Easter.

And how do they celebrate it in the USA? Let’s have a look

A new world in travelling

March 4, 2008 at 3:41 pm (General)

I have recently discovered a new word in Spanish which I am not able to translate into English. It is “enoturismo”. Do you know what is this?

It is a way of mixing two different hobbies: the first one is travelling and the second one the world of wine. This way you will be able to travel around vineyards, in a luxury way, enjoying your trip.

If you want to know more about all this, I have found a wonderful site where you can find many different and interesting trips.

Are you interested in “enoturismo”?

Blog-learning

January 18, 2008 at 7:16 pm (General)

This has been a long and hard week as apart from teaching English to my students, I was at the same time a student myself. For the last five days, I’ve been learning a lot about new technologies in education.

On Monday I attended a very interesting lecture about this subject. The teacher who spoke was really wonderful and I already learnt a lot, or maybe I should say, I learnt lots of things that I’m interested in learning in a near future. His name was Jordi Adell Segura. So if you have the opportunity of listening to him, please do it!

On Tuesday and Thursday I kept on going to my Blog course, taught by Isidro Vidal. This was a bit harder because we are centered in a single subject: blogs.

In general, after these days, I’m taking into account that there are thousands of themes related to new technologies I’m interested in, but the question is: Will I have the time to learn about all of them?

Johnny Deep’s last movie

January 17, 2008 at 5:38 pm (General, video)

I’m writing this post for those who love that fantastic, enigmatic, surprising, versatile, cute actor called Jonny Deep. If you liked his performance in Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie and the Factory Chocolate, Sleepy Hollow or Edward Scissorhands, you’d love him in Sweeney Todd. As far as I know, it’s his first musical, but it is not as the usual ones like Cabaret or Mamma Mia, because it is quite dark. Maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised after knowing who the director of the film is; the great Tim Burton a very close friend of Mr. Deep.

As you can imagine I’m eagerly waiting for the film in our cinemas not only because of the main actor, who has even won a Golden Globe Award this week, but also to see this new musical.
